Built around a simple 34 × 34 cm wooden cube, each module is strategically divided into just a few elements that can be rearranged into different functions and compositions. Rather than filling a room with separate pieces, SAIJO creates a cohesive, adaptive environment that evolves with your needs. Expand it, reconfigure it, move it, or combine it with additional modules—all while preserving a clean, timeless aesthetic inspired by Japanese principles of simplicity, flexibility, and purposeful space. Most SAIJO modules are intentionally designed without a defined front or back. Their open form preserves uninterrupted space, allowing light, views, and movement to pass freely through the furniture instead of being blocked by it. This reflects the Japanese concept of Ma—the intentional use of empty space. Rather than treating every volume as something that must be filled, Ma recognizes that openness brings balance, clarity, and a sense of calm. The result is furniture that feels lighter, makes spaces appear more expansive, and offers complete freedom to use and arrange each module from any direction.
"Saijo" is also a beautiful Japanese word meaning "the highest" or "the best."

No. The system is designed to work incrementally, not all at once.
You can start with a single Zone—like a workspace, storage system, or sleeping module—and integrate it into your existing home. Each module is self-contained and designed to fit standard spatial conditions, so it can be added without rebuilding anything around it.
Modules are also reconfigurable by design—for example, a library unit can later become a bedside table, or be rearranged into a sitting bench with storage.
Over time, you can expand or replace additional areas as needed. The system layers into your home gradually, rather than requiring a full renovation.
In short: you don’t replace your home—you upgrade it one modular layer at a time.
